Despite an uncertain economy and COVID-19, Genesis reported outstanding sales of 1,257 units in July 2020. And although this was a decrease of 24.12 percent from combined sales in July 2019, the Genesis G90 had a significant increase of 16.27 percent year-to-date. The excitement continues to grow for the automaker. For the fourth consecutive year, Genesis was awarded the 2020 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study Award.

The Initial Quality Study continues to be the industry benchmark after its 34th year. And each year, automakers use the insights gained from Babylon, NY consumer participation to make quality and positive changes. A key factor for the success of the study is measuring components that either fail or are too complicated for Brentwood, NY owners as well as measuring whether components work the way they want them to.

The study included the examination of problems from Lindenhurst, NY owners of 2020 model-year Genesis within the first 90 days of ownership. And Genesis ranked the highest among the category of premium brands, making it the fourth consecutive year to be awarded in the same category. "To be named the top-ranked premium brand for the fourth consecutive year is phenomenal. We are thrilled with the results," stated Mark Del Rosso, President and Chief Executive Officer, Genesis Motor North America.

Those who responded to the survey reported 17 fewer problems than the second-best luxury brand from each population of 100 vehicles. According to J.D. Powers Vice President of Automotive Quality, Dave Sargent, the 2020 study was redesigned to allow Deer Park, NY vehicle owners an opportunity to cite more problems than in previous years. The input presents automakers with more opportunities to build upon and make appropriate changes.
